A Bigger HUG

Charlotte is Creative is incredibly proud of the HUG Program and all of our HUG recipients. Since 2017, our sponsors and private donors have enabled us to award nearly 300 HUGs to projects just like yours. [PSSST! Don’t forget that you can apply for a second (and final) HUG after one year.]

We want to help HUG recipients who have made notable impacts with their initial HUG with a one-time $1000 HUG – a.k.a. “Bear HUGs.’ Thanks to sponsorship from The LendingTree Foundation, we can give away at least one $1,000 Bear HUG a month in 2022.

$1,000 HUG Requirements

As a past HUG recipient, you are eligible to apply for this special HUG, but you must also meet additional criteria.

The project for which you’re applying must be open to the public
You must provide us with a short story on how you used the $250. Did you say you would use it for what you said you would? Did you need to shift your project? What did you learn from it?
You must fill out our resource page before completing the application. We’re asking this because we are building a HUG database on our Web site to help you promote your work.
You must publically thank Charlotte Is Creative and HUG sponsors on all your available online and social media channels.
You must be willing to provide two reports – one month after you receive your HUG and one at its completion – to Charlotte Is Creative.
You cannot apply if it’s been less than six months since you received your first $250 HUG.

If you are interested, please complete the application below. We will review Bear HUGs each month. To be considered in the next round, please submit your application at least TWO MONTHS in advance of when you will need it. Recipients will be notified by email.
