We know what you’re thinking. “Ummm … you should already be watching Bunny.”
We’ve got no argument for that. Michelle “Bunny” Gregory is a neighborhood-minded creative collaborator with a welcome smile and insane visual art skills. With her “Underground” bus, she brings boundless energy, kindness, creativity and to communities across CLT.
Last year, she partnered with our friend MyLoan Dinh (on the left in the photo) to 3 projects – the Patchwork Crosswalks – for MoRA Monroe Road Advocates. Featuring design ideas sourced from the community, these murals adorn three East Charlotte crosswalks:
▶️ “Wonder” – complete at Monroe Rd & Chippendale
▶️ “Gather” – complete at Monroe Rd & Galleria Blvd.
▶️ “LovN On Each Other” – complete at Monroe Rd & Conference Dr.
Together, these 2 have formed the MURAL NINJAS!
EPIC ARTIST. EPIC CAREER.
In 2021, Bunny also took part in community events like “A Vibe Outside,” teamed up for murals along the Beatties Ford Road corridor, taught classes at McColl Center, worked with us on a sidewalk mural at Derita Dairy Bar … and much more.
But, with a new home at the VAPA Center and the honor of being named a QC Family Tree Culture Bearers Resident to start 2022, we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
THE CONSUMMATE CHARLOTTE CREATIVE
Bunny told us, “The creative Community here in Charlotte has certainly grown. It is most definitely better, more productive and more inclusive!” Bunny, you’re a big part of that. Thank you for your example.
About her creative passions, Bunny says: “My work centers around gentrification and community building. I like the use of recycled materials, collage and acrylics. I also very much enjoy Creative community engagement/building!”
Bunny, you keep leading. We’ll keep following.
