Today is National Chopsticks Day. But, really, EVERY DAY should be Chopsticks Day. Whether you are a guru with the bamboo or are willing to polish your skills, the real question is: Do you know where to go? To answer that question, we turned to our buddies at @CLT.Remedy, Kriska and Manny. They’re siblings. They’re pharmacists. And, they’re two of the most intrepid culinary explorers in Charlotte, finding the hidden gems across the city.

The McColl Center Welcomes the Community Outside to Come Inside
The McColl Center of Art + Innovation has been a sanctuary for artists of all perspectives and genres for 20 years, providing workspace and housing for 18 artists a year. Often, those artists are from outside Charlotte. In the fall of 2019, they welcomed a class of 6 creatives based in Charlotte — creatives whose artistic pursuits blend with their desire to make tangible impacts on their neighbors and the city as a whole. This week, writer Liz Logan sheds a light on the work two of them — Helms Jarrell and MyLoan Dinh — created during their time in the latest cohort. And, make plans to see their group installation — TARMAC — which closes Saturday.

Four Insta-Picks from Leigh Sellers of Touchstone Family Law
She may be a lawyer who excels at guiding people through some of the most challenging times of their lives, but Leigh Sellers is also a passionate lover of creativity in Charlotte. While she might not be ready to take the stage on Broadway (we’d argue with her on that, but … you know … she’s a lawyer and we’d lose), but she IS ready to help us navigate the world of Queen City Instagram accounts.

Finding Time with Family While You’re Stretching Yourself Too Thin
It can be hard to find your “Why” in life. It can be even harder once you have. Especially when you choose to put others first, Tony Santoro (founder of Enderly Coffee), and his wife, Becky (founder of Foster Village Charlotte), know a little something about that. Putting others first is woven into their personal and professional lives. They’re passionate about it. They love their work, but it comes with unique challenges. Here’s one of the three biggest challenges Tony says he’s facing on Thursday, Feb. 6.
Two Working Parents With Kids
“Becky and I have 4 kids (2 in Elementary School and 2 in daycare). We both work plenty. They get sick… CMS needs their workdays… WHAT ARE WE TO DO WITH THE KIDS THIS SUMMER? Juggling work and kids is a real struggle at times. Am I right, parents?” – Tony Santoro

Words to live by! We have the whole drinking coffee part down pretty well but we definitely need to work on being cool. Make your way to E 36th Street over in NoDa to meet this cute coffee cup and get your daily caffeine fix at Smelly Cat Coffee House & Roastery! Don’t worry, it doesn’t smell like a litter box inside. Rather, it has the creativity inducing aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans that we all know and love.
Smelly Cat has been brewing house-roasted joe in NoDa since 1999 and over the years they’ve added a breakfast menu (shout out to made from scratch biscuits), a list of “cozy cocktails,” and cold brew on tap. The Cat is a “no judgment zone” coffee house dedicated to helping you drink coffee your way, so take a trip to the roastery and get creative with your caffeinated concoctions.
Directions: 514 E 36th St, Charlotte, NC 28205
