New Creative Growth Grants Open on June 19

New support is on the way for creatives in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.

On June 19, the City of Charlotte will open applications for its Creative Growth Grants. These funding source are designed to strengthen Charlotte’s creative ecosystem by providing financial support to individual artists, grassroots arts organizations, collaborative projects and other activities that support the Arts and Culture Plan. 

Charlotte Is Creative is assisting in managing outreach and program logistics, but final funding decisions will be made by an independent review panel not affiliated with the organization.

To ensure applicants are fully prepared, a network of local partners — including Civility Localized, Bogues Group, Crownkeepers, La Casa de la Cultura and Scribe — are working together to promote awareness and deliver training.

The support being offered is structured not only to help applicants succeed in this opportunity, but also to build stronger skills for future grants, proposals and open calls.

Applicants may apply for only one of the three funding streams.

  • Operational Grants – For grassroots arts & culture nonprofits
  • Project Support Grants – For nonprofits and individual creatives
  • Professional Development Grants – For nonprofits and individual creatives
