Drop Into The Drop!

DROP INTO THE DROP VOL. 4

Friday, Sept. 22  from 6 to 9 p.m.
Divine Barrel Brewing
Community Partner: BLKMRKTCLT
Artists: Carla Aaron-Lopez, Dammit Wesley, Garrison Gist

Supported by the North Carolina Arts Council with a Spark the Arts grant, The Drop is Charlotte Is Creative’s new cultural meet-up series centered on the commissioning and revelation of a brand-new, community-conscious mural created by diverse, Charlotte-based artists each quarter.

In collaboration with community partners and in partnership with Divine Barrel Brewing, each mural hangs in the brewery for three months and is then emblazoned on Divine Barrel beer cans distributed across the Carolinas. Hence, The Drop combines artist compensation with innovative exposure to lift up emerging artists.

Each quarter’s convening of The Drop features live music, creative networking and conversations with the artists. Sitting at the intersection of a number of distinct neighborhoods in fast-growing Charlotte – Belmont, NoDa, Villa Heights, and East Charlotte – Divine Barrel is a place where diverse communities can come together around the power of art, opening the door for powerful sharing of unique perspectives, experiences and stories from varying parts of the Queen City.
