Putting the impact of COVID-19 on the world, let alone the people and neighborhoods of our own community, is nearly impossible. While they can’t tell the whole story, photographs and pictures help.
To that end, we’ve partnered with The Charlotte Ledger, an online business publication established by seasoned journalist Tony Mecia. During the COVID-19 outbreak, The Ledger has expanded to daily distribution, offering in-depth coverage and long-form stories.
In our new series, “Visions of the Not Normal,” The Biscuit and Ledger will present images of neighborhoods and communities across the city through the eyes (and lenses) of local photographers.
This week, photographer Heather Liebler, shares a gallery of photographs she’s taken over the last few weeks. The photo above features her daughter Vivian, a senior at South Mecklenburg High School, who, like all public school students across the state, learned she will continue learning at home through the remainder of the planned school year.
Next week will feature a different photographer and a different part of the Queen City. If you know of a photographer who would be interested in sharing images from their community in this time, please let us know.
