ASC Announces Mecklenburg Creatives Resiliency Fund
- /
It’s not a secret, people — times are tough for everyone right now. Especially full-time creatives that have suddenly lost their main source of income. Artists, performers, freelancers, you name it, have been put in financial danger due to COVID-19. But, now it’s time for some good news!
Earlier this week, the Arts & Science Council announced the Mecklenburg Creatives Resiliency Fund to help ease the financial burden and support our county’s creatives. The fund will provide $500 awards to creatives who have been impacted.
According to the ASC’s website, the fund will help “creative practitioners in Mecklenburg County recover from personal emergencies by helping pay an unanticipated, emergency expense or by augmenting lost income due to the cancellation of a specific, scheduled gig or opportunity (i.e. commissions, performances, contracts) due to Coronavirus/COVID-19 precautionary measures.”
If you’ve been negatively impacted and believe you qualify, we encourage you to apply here.
