Biscuit CLT Podcast: CreativeMornings/Charlotte 50th Event
- /
Four and a half years ago, Matt Olin was looking for a way to lift up the creative community in Charlotte. Through his work with the Good Life Project, he’d heard of Tina Roth Eisenberg and CreativeMornings, the global community she’d created to do just that. A short time (and one amazing video by Charlotte Star Room later), Matt learned Charlotte had been awarded a chapter.
Matt quickly turned to Tim Miner and a team of excited volunteers to chart the course for the freshly minted chapter. And, on Nov. 2, they sent email invites for their first gathering of Charlotte creatives at Laca Projects in FreeMoreWest. With the goal of attracting 40-50 people, it quickly became clear that they were on to something when more than 200 people snapped up tickets in just a few hours. And then sold out the next month. And, the next month.
The morning of Dec. 6, at Black Hawk Hardware in Park Road Shopping Center, Matt and Tim will co-host the 50th meeting of CreativeMornings/Charlotte. In today’s batch of the Biscuit CLT Podcast, producer Andy Goh talks to Matt and Tim about the first 50 CM/CLT events. Hear them talk about how the event got started, the role the venues play, their favorite memories and much more.
