Brit Drozda Makes Something Beautiful

by Andy Goh on May 29, 2019

Growing up with parents who supported their children’s creativity, Brit Drozda and her brother indulged a love of music from an early age. The wrote and performed together in high school and Brit accelerated her live performances at Davidson College. Eventually, however, she stopped writing and performing.

After a career in the culinary arts and starting her family, Brit was inspired to write a song she called “Let Me Hang the Moon.” This song — and playing it for others – inspired her to re-engage with her passion for music. And, she’s given her talents to Charlotte ever since.

Hearing Brit’s soulful singing and folk-rock-pop sound would remind many listeners of the best Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, Patty Griffin, and Norah Jones records. Brit brings rooted yet sanguine lyrics to her listeners, and a clearly intentional sound defined by wonderful instrumentation. After releasing her EP Let Me Hang the Moon in 2016, Brit’s first full-length album is scheduled for release on June 7, called “Make Something Beautiful.” It will be available on iTunes and Spotify that day.

Brit hopes “Make Something Beautiful” will “inspire and highlight the good in the community.” She adds,”Anyone can [make something beautiful.] All it takes is a heart and something to say.” Hear Brit explore her new album below.
