In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often overlook the beauty surrounding us in the simplest moments.

“A Slice of Life: The Art of Everyday” invites artists to capture and celebrate these fleeting instances that make up the fabric of our existence. This exhibit explores the extraordinary within the ordinary, showcasing works that highlight the charm, complexity, and significance of everyday experiences. Join us in this artistic journey as we uncover the profound beauty in the routine and celebrate the art of everyday life.

Submissions

Entry is open April 23 – May 7, 2025. Each artist may submit up to 2 entries. Entries are accepted online only. There are no fees associated with participation in this show. The Novant Café Gallery Committee will select entries.

Specifications

All 2D mediums are welcome. Pieces must be framed, wired, and ready to hang. No sawtooth hooks.

Size Constraints

No larger than 36” x 36”.

Timeline

  • Notification of selection May 16.
  • Take-in of artwork – May 19-23 (Monday between 1:30-2:30 p.m., Wednesday between 8:00-9:30 a.m., and Friday 2-4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday take-in are by appointment only and must be scheduled by emailing stemplin@novanthealth.org).
  • Opening Reception – May 30 at 3:00 p.m. Take-down and pick-up – November 10-14.

Artists will sign a loan agreement contract before intake. (More details to come) Artists keep 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their art. All sales will be completed through the artist and not Novant Health. Should the piece sell before the end of the show, the artist is responsible for replacing it with another committee-approved piece or leaving the sold piece up for the duration. Artwork will only be released to the artist. All entries left more than 30 days after pick-up will become the possession of Novant Health and be considered a donation to the facility.
