Something Old, Something New – Canine Cafe Charlotte & Pet Wants
- /
For “Something Old, Something New,” we share a new restaurant/brewery/venue/shop and pair it with a similar #OGclt spot that’s been in Crown Town for years, and in some cases, decades. Today, we want to make your furry friends happy and introduce you to two pet supply stores that are serving up unique eat n’ treats. Check out both spots below or else your pets will stare at you with those big puppy dog eyes because all of their friends at doggie daycare have better snacks than them.
Doggies Can Be Foodies, Too.
SOMETHING NEW: Pet Wants
You’ve likely been to Optimist Hall, the popular food hall that was converted from an old mill, to enjoy a few tasty morsels from eateries such as The Dumpling Lady, Papi Queso and Velvet Taco. There are so many delicious dishes to try that you could go weeks without eating the same meal. Meanwhile, your dog is eating the same Kibble N’ Bits for the 3579th time in a row… and Pet Wants is on a mission to change that.
The pet supply store, located in the heart of Optimist Hall, offers a variety of slow-cooked, small-batch pet food that you can bring home in a doggie bag for your fuzzy best friends. They also carry a wide selection of freshly made treats and squeaky new toys that any pet (well, mainly dogs and cats) would love. Don’t know what to buy? They’ll help you find what your Pet Wants. (Get it?)
Now that Rover’s dinner is covered… what’s for dessert?
SOMETHING OLD: Canine Cafe Charlotte
Sing it with us: “I got my paws up, they’re baking somethin’ tasty. You know I’m gonna be okay, yeah it’s a pawty in the CLT!”
Every good pawty in the CLT needs a pawty cake and the best place in the Queen City to find one is Canine Cafe Charlotte! Since 1995, Canine Cafe has been baking up “doggie-licious” handmade and hand-decorated treats specifically designed with our canine companions’ tummies in mind.
The treats range from cannolis to brownies to tarts to fully blown personalized “Pawty Cakes”, perfect for celebrating with your precious pups. All of the baking is done on-site at the Cafe located on the corner of South Boulevard and Remount Road. While you select some snacks for your hungry hounds, take a peek down into the kitchen where you can see the doggie dessert magic in action. We asked our dogs to give a review and we got two woofs and a bark in return, so as you can see, they highly recommend Canine Cafe.
