@CLT.Remedy’s Picks for National Chopsticks Day!
- /
Guest writers (siblings AND pharmacists), Kriska Woods and Emmanuel Carandang, explore the Queen City culinary world every day on @CLT.Remedy.
National Chopsticks Day is officially February 6. But, really, EVERY DAY should be Chopsticks Day.
Whether you’re a skilled chopsticks user, a beginner that requires chopstick helpers or have never even held a pair, eating with chopsticks doesn’t have to be too challenging. No matter how intimidating those two bamboo sticks may be, you just have to find a great restaurant serving up tasty “noods” and “noms” to ensure you have a great experience. Here’s a list of some Charlotte eateries that we think you’ll enjoy!
There are no shortage of Vietnamese restaurants in the QC and everyone has their favorite spots for sure.
Our Top 3 Faves Are …
Lang Van
3019 Shamrock Dr, Charlotte, NC 28215
Whether you’re a Lang Van regular or not, you’ll be treated like family by the super friendly folks that run this CLT OG spot. They literally have 100+ menu items. While we’ve not ordered ALL of them, we have made our way through a few items and our top picks: Bun Thit Nuong and the Pho Dac Biet.

Pho Viet & Seafood
7146 E Independence Blvd Ste F, Charlotte, NC 28227
We visited this spot recently based on a friend’s recommendation. We were glad we listened! In addition to the Vietnamese classics of banh mi, vermicelli bun and pho, they also serve bubble tea AND seafood pots! We’ve yet to try the seafood pots, but they sure look tasty!

Pho & Sushi
1143 Stonecrest Boulevard, Fort Mill, SC 29708
While we are crossing the NC/SC border for this spot, it’s actually a quick stone’s throw if you live in South Charlotte areas like Whitehall, Steele Creek, etc. Bonus: they also serve sushi!

Eatin’ Vegan?
Mama Wok
11914 Elm Ln Ste 100, Charlotte, NC 28277
If you’re vegan or vegetarian — or just curious like us — you must check out Mama Wok! We took a couple of our friends and ventured out to the world of vegetarian meats, and honestly, the food was so good and we were easily faked out by it all.

If you’re looking for unique eats, deep dive here:
Malaya Kitchen
8200-400 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277
Serving up Malaysian dishes, this restaurant briefly transported us to our trip to Singapore. We were so excited to find this spot. Now, we can get our fill of Hainanese chicken and cereal prawn shrimp!

Dim Sum Plaza Midwood
2920 Central Ave B, Charlotte, NC 28205
Our favorite time to go is definitely on Sundays for their dim sum carts, but you have to make sure to come early as tables fill up quickly AND you get the freshest picks of the lot if you’re there earlier of course! If you’re brave, they also serve chicken feet and tripe!!!

Wan Fu Quality Chinese Cuisine
10719 Kettering Dr, Charlotte, NC 28226
This Chinese food spot has been around for 30 year. Not very many places in CLT can say that! A little trivia: ‘Wan Fu’ loosely means ‘10,000 happiness’ and we sure were happy leaving there with our bellies full!

And of course, our list would not be complete without …
Our most favorite CLT spot evah!
Futo Buta
222 E Bland St, Charlotte, NC 28203
We have a family tradition: When it rains, we ramen.
And of course, when we ramen … it’s FUTO BUTA ramen! Honestly, we also can very easily sway each other to just go when it’s sunny because it truly is one of our most favorite restaurants in town! We love Chef Shortino and his crew … and his Buta Bowl … and his Hot Ringo … and his Rice Krispies … and all of his fresh sheet items … and basically EVERYTHING!
