- /
It’s that time again… time to fill up those calendars! Here are three essential events that will bring you joy this weekend and beyond. They’ve got art! They’ve got dancing! They’ve got world class speakers! What more could you need? Check them out below.
Wheeling Art Dealing – Pop-Up Gallery
Friday, Nov. 15, 7-9PM
Free Range Brewing
Galleries can be everywhere … even in a rented truck. On Nov. 15, the “Wheeling Art Dealing” mobile gallery will roll into Free Range Brewing, featuring work for sale from 20 local artists from Goodyear Arts and Talking Walls. Rebecca Henderson and Grace Stott have curated what they call their “biggest little show, yet.” All pieces for sale will be 8″ x 10″ or smaller and under $100 in price. Don’t be late. All sales are first-come, first-served.
Miss Independent Cardio Dance Pop-Up Class
Saturday, Nov. 16th, 11am
Ebb & Flow Movement Studio
Lizzo, eat your heart out. Our pal and #CLTAvenger, Kara Vasseur, of MiSFIT Dance is leading a cardio dance session to leave you feeling empowered long after the endorphins wear off. You don’t have to have been one of J. Lo’s back-up dancers to fit in. All levels are welcome. Men and women are already signed up. As Kara says, “stop worrying about getting it right. We’re all weird here.” Tickets are $15 online or at the door.
“Justice or Just Us” Juried Art Show
Thursday, Dec. 5 & Friday, Dec. 6
Charlotte Trolley Powerhouse
SouthEnd ARTS will select 11 local artists for a juried art show and two-day exhibition in early December. On December 5, Dr. Stephanie Cooper-Lewter will speak on the topic of “Justice.” And, the First Friday South End Gallery crawl will feature art and an artist workshop, “Your Social Media Presence.” Interested artists should apply here by November 17 at 11:59pm to be considered for the shows.
