How long have you been in Charlotte?
What are your creative disciplines? What do you love to do?
My creative discipline is videography and photography.
In two sentences: What is your CEI project all about?
My CEI project is about highlighting COVID-19’s effect on minority-owned small businesses in Charlotte, NC and telling compelling stories of triumph.
How will the public be able to experience your CEI project?
The public will be able to view the final project on social media (YouTube, IG).
How can they help you?
The public can help by viewing, sharing and commenting on the video on release. Also by supporting a number of the minority businesses being highlighted.
What are your thoughts on Charlotte’s creative community? What do we need more of?
Charlotte has a very diverse group of skill sets in the creative community. I think we need more diversity on who gets selected for projects for the city. In my 11 years, I’ve seen the same faces used and would like others to get opportunities.
What have you learned in the class?
I have learned about building teamwork, being an effective communicator, that passionate people run and change the world, finance is a major part of every project, and Matt and Tim rock!
What would you say to other creatives about being a small business?
Being a small business is not an easy task but with the right toolsets and guidance, you can make your dreams become a reality and accomplish anything.
