NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are capturing the attention of creatives and investors. A group of Charlotte creatives is looking to lead the charge in the Queen City, bringing awareness to these one-of-a-kind digital assets.
Co-Founded by Tony Bravado, NFTCLT aims to not only build community but to educate. The local community for NFT enthusiasts educates and onboards people on blockchain technology, NFTs and Web 3.0. A recent collaboration with Charlotte Business Group creates an opportunity to further expand reach and increase impact.
To understand more about NFTs and their future in Charlotte, we asked Bravado to put us (and you) in the picture:
How did you get into NFTs?
I’ve been in NFTs since 2019. I thought it was a joke, but I was hurt on the job and had to focus on other ways to support my family. I started making NFT comedy content with my brother, YungContent, because we weren’t getting attention on social media. So, we decided to start producing comedy for the NFT community. Then people started taking notice.
Yung started a podcast with influential NFT creators. I started hosting Twitter spaces with my partner, Diamond Doll. We got so much attention that we started getting invited to conventions and asked to speak on panels. That’s when I met Even Shirreffs and decided to create an NFT community that became NFT CLT. The rest is history.
Who can get in on NFTs?
Educate yourself on what ethereum is and how it’s used. What kind of wallets are out there, research wallet security information and determine which wallet works for you. Do your own research. Before you start buying in NFTs in marketplaces, check out YouTube videos and find a community that can help you answer your questions.
What are a few goals you have for NFT CLT in 2022?
We want to educate! With onboarding and community building, we can help make Charlotte the capital of crypto in North Carolina. We can show the world that Charlotte can do some exciting things with this technology that’s not being done in other cities.
How can people get involved with NFT CLT?
Come to our live in-person events where you can be part of a diverse community, get educated or have questions answered.
Upcoming Gathering of NFT CLT:
- On March 22, NFT CLT will host “The Good, Bad and NFTs” at 7 p.m. at Summit Seltzer. The event will showcase the bad side of the NFT world, educating guests on pitfalls and possibilities of what can be done with world-changing technology.
