Creative Resources: Two ASC Support Grants Now Open
- /
With so much upheaval these last few months, it’s nice when there is some normalcy that seems to come every once in a while. Sure, there have been some really innovative and creative ways to keep our local artists, musicians and creatives moving forward, but it’s also nice that some of our familiar faces and groups are continuing with their support through these unprecedented times.
The Arts and Science Council is now accepting applications for both their Cultural Vision Grants and the Artist Support Grants (formally called the Regional Artists Project Grant). Whether you’ve applied before or this or this is your first time, you’ll need a strategy. To aid with your preparation, the ASC has scheduled virtual workshops for both grants to answer questions and guide you through the process. (See dates and links below.)
And, Liz Fitzgerald, the ASC’s program director for grants and services, has some words of encouragement for all thinking about applying: “If either of these grant opportunities look like a fit to the creative goals you’ve set for yourself in the next year, apply! Through our workshops, one-on-one coaching and draft reviews, ASC staff are glad to help you through the process. Start putting your ideas to paper early. Ask friends to read through your ideas, so you know your proposal is clear. And finally — grant writing at its best is a practice of intention setting – dream boldly.”
