New Funding Opportunity for Mecklenburg County Creatives Opens Today
New CARES Funding Applications Opens Today at Noon for Local Creative Individuals & Small to Mid-Sized Cultural Nonprofits Creative individuals and small and mid-sized arts, science and history nonprofit organizations based in Charlotte-Mecklenburg can apply to the Arts, Culture and Creativity Fund for funding to address business interruption costs related to COVID-19 and incurred between March 1 and October 30, 2020. FAQs and information on paperwork needed to apply are available at www.InvestInCreatives.com The application opens on November 2, 2020 at 12 p.m. and closes November 10, 2020 at 5 p.m. Virtual information sessions will be held today (Monday, November 2) at 3 p.m. for cultural organizations and at 6 p.m. for creative individuals. (Register here.) The sessions will be recorded and available for playback on the website. The Fund, created using federal Coronavirus Relief Funding (CRF) provided through the CARES Act from the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, may help eligible cultural organizations, with budgets less than $1 million, and creative individuals who have experienced financial hardship because of the crisis caused by the pandemic.
