MEET 12 CREATIVES WE HIRED IN THE LAST 45 DAYS
Charlotte Is Creative. It’s not just the name of the nonprofit that brings you The Biscuit, it’s a true statement we’re excited to bring to bear every day. We know the Charlotte area has thousands of incredibly talented creatives in our community. And, we believe every one of them is a small business. A few weeks ago, we shared a batch of The Biscuit featuring 16 creatives we’d hired over the course of 45 days. We got tremendous feedback from it – thank you’s from creatives wanting to be hired and folks looking for talented and reliable creatives to hire. So, we’re keeping it going. Our goal as an organization is to hire at least 150 individual creatives for paid gigs in 2023. And, we’re extremely excited about working with creatives for the first time. We’re excited to say that we’re well over the halfway mark at this point – and we’re not stopping. Below are 12 local creatives we hired in the last 45 days. They crushed it for us. We hope you’ll give them a chance to do the same for you. If you are an individual or a business looking for help managing a creative project with local talent, reach out to us. We’re keen to talk. And, if you’re a creative with whom we’ve never worked, we want to know you. Please fill out our creative profile here. MEET THE CREATIVES

PAGE LEGGETT COPYWRITER/EDITOR CONTACT: So, Page is “old skool” in the best way. Just reach out to us. We’ll put you in contact with her. Image above created by Rod-Wimer. What does Page do for us? Page has been part of helping us write/edit/build The Biscuit from pretty much day one. She is a go-to writer of great renown in Charlotte. But, she has a “vintage” business style. We can say more, but this statement from Page says it all: “When I first hung out my shingle 12 years ago, I thought about what I had to offer and realized it was a rare combination of discipline and creativity. So, I thought about calling myself ‘The Communicatrix,’ but that seemed ill-advised.” Trust us. Hire Page now. What can Page do for you? - Writing feature stories for print and web

DROP INTO THE DROP Thursday, June 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. Divine Barrel Brewing MORE INFO On June 29, we’ll end Pride Month in style by dropping the curtain on a new work of art from artists (and partners) Dyair and LaTroy Hampton. Their piece is inspired by the mission of Charlotte Pride and the local LGBTQ+ communities they serve. The event will also feature an opening set of live music by 7th Son, an ensemble from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte and tunes spun by DJ Little Betty. And, we’ll also be unveiling Vol. 2 of The Drop series beer, Celebrating Friends, a refreshing sour at 4.6% ABV, brewed with loads of ripe mango. This beer will be distributed across the Carolinas in a can that proudly displays the mural created for February’s installment of The Drop by the talented artists at Namaste Artists CLT. The DROP is free to attend, so make plans to join us for new art, new beer, live music, food trucks, new friends and lots of love. The DROP is a quarterly collaboration with Divine Barrel Brewing. It is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with a Spark the Arts grant created to promote audience inclusion and re-engagement in the arts.
