Charlotte’s arts and culture scene is getting a major boost through a new round of nearly $1 million in grants administered through the City of Charlotte Opportunity Fund. These grants will fund Charlotte-Mecklenburg artists and arts and culture groups developing near-term projects and initiatives that align with the recently approved Charlotte Arts and Culture Plan. “Applicants can request up to $40,000 by submitting a letter of intent (LOI) and must meet eligibility requirements. The deadline to submit a request is March 28,” said Priya Sircar, the city’s arts and culture officer. “After review of their LOI, applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be contacted to submit a full proposal.” After the city released this information Thursday, Priya shared it again at CreativeMornings/Charlotte Friday.
