Yesterday was a good day…

Yesterday was a good day.
That’s what we said when we went to bed last night. And, it’s what we said when we woke up today.
Yesterday, we were able to work with the City of Charlotte, Brand the Moth, BLKMRKTCLT, 22 artists and countless helpers to paint a universal truth on the 200 block of S. Tryon Street, the very heart of Uptown Charlotte: BLACK LIVES MATTER.
Today, our hearts are full … and our heads are still spinning a little bit from, as Sam Guzzie of Brand the Moth says, “a three-month project done in 72 hours.”
Tomorrow, we’ll send out a Biscuit that explores how the project happened, who was involved, how you can follow and help them.
The day after tomorrow (or even right now), we all need to ask bigger questions: Where do we go from here? What needs to change to keep the momentum? How do we remain focused on true, permanent change?
For now, here is a list of the artists involved and their corresponding letter in the mural. Please follow them. Share them. Buy their work. And, if you can, HIRE THEM and pay them fairly for the work they do. They are a gift to our city. They are vital members of our business community. They help define our city’s quality of life. They speak the intimate stories of our city into existence for all to see.
