SIX CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS
AND GRANT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
ONE: Applications Open for Creative Entrepreneurs Initiative (CEI)
There are 14 spots open for creative entrepreneurs in the CEI Spring 2024 Cohort, funded by Mecklenburg County and Wells Fargo and supported by the Do Greater CRTV Lab and Interact Studio. Cohort members get paid to attend 10 sessions of business training and a $1,500 stipend to invest in their creative business. CEI is managed by Charlotte Is Creative.
TWO: Free Classes on Business Communications, Marketing and Finance
In October, Charlotte Is Creative is offering two in-person Creative Entrepreneurs Initiative classes open for audit at the Do Greater CRTV Lab. November will feature a Creative Convo on ZOOM.
- 10/9 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) – CEI Open Class: Business Communications with Tim Miner
- 10/23 (6:30-8 p.m.) – CEI Open Class: Marketing & Branding with Elena Kacan & Lillian Parker
- 11/2 (6-7 p.m.) – Creative Convo: Financial Planning with Rob Bacharach
All classes above are free to attend.
THREE: McColl Center Opportunities
Calls are now open for a 14-week residency and a residency with Atrium Health through McColl Center. Both programs run January through April 2024.
FOUR: ArtPop Street Gallery 2024 Cities Program
Applications open now for the 2024 ArtPop Cities Program. Those selected will get unique outdoor/on-screen advertising opportunities and business training.
FIVE: SEED20 Class of 2024
Social Venture Partners Charlotte has opened applications for SEED20, a pitch competition for emerging nonprofits. Those selected receive pitch coaching, networking opportunities and the chance to compete for a cash prize in March 2024.
SIX: The Unfundable Project Grant
To celebrate a decade in business, Next Stage invites nonprofit organizations to apply for $10,000 for a project that would typically not receive funding.
SIX OPEN CALLS FOR ART/PERFORMANCE
ONE: Call for CFD Firehouse #11 Mural
Arts & Science Council has issued a call for proposals to create a history-based mural on a new firehouse.
TWO: Call for Murals in Morrisville, NC
The Town of Morrisville is seeking artists from across the state to design and install murals on two properties owned by the town.
THREE: Paid Gigs at Charlotte SHOUT! 2024
Applications for six different paid opportunities, large and small, are open now for Charlotte SHOUT! This event is managed by Charlotte Center City Partners.

FOUR: Art Partnership with St. Martin’s Episcopal Church
Applications are now open for the “Be-With,” an annual partnership between a regional visual artist and St. Martin’s Episcopal Church to create a religious work of art.
FIVE: BOOM Charlotte 2024
In preparation for their festival in 2024, BOOM Charlotte is now accepting applications for both performers and vendors.

SIX: The Remarkable Market
Charlotte Art League invites artists and creatives to be part of their market from 6-9 p.m. every second Friday.
Confluence Carolinas Music Industry Conference
In addition to offering a wide array of musical performances from Charlotte-based artists, Confluence Carolinas has convened more than 40 regional and national experts on the music industry to lead seminars and information sessions. Conference passes, music passes and all-access passes are available.
