  3. Four to Follow - QC Javi's Picks

Charlotte is home to thousands of Instagram accounts from Charlotte creatives sharing their work and their thoughts about the Queen City community. Many of them deserve more love and your attention. Where do you start? Who do you follow? No worries. We’ve got you covered.

Each week, one of our guest experts will share four local Instagram accounts they think are worth your follows and likes — accounts they feel offer a compassionate, funny, inspiring or insightful eye on Charlotte.

This week, our friend and collaborator, Javier Morales of Latino Alternativo, highlights four Instagram accounts that inspire his joyful explorations of the Queen City. Here are his picks:

Verdetribe

“Verde Tribe Plant Shop is all about the benefits plants can have in our health and how they can be part of our lives. I love what Veronica does on a regular basis because she is always giving pointers on how to take care of them. She constantly recommends plants based on the lifestyle of her clients. She is a firm believer that anybody can have a plant of their own no matter the misconceptions people have about not being able to take care of them. As a Charlottean, I love that they buy from local nurseries, they deliver for free in Charlotte and also donate 10% of sales to local charities.”

Pindroppedft

“I love this page because she posts amazing food not just from Charlotte, but other places she travels to. She has great tips on making plans for upcoming trips, best things to do in different cities and how to travel on a budget while still making sure you’re having a blast. I have followed some of her tips before. And, they have saved me from huge headaches plenty of times. Did I mention I love her food posts?”

Dantekimages

“Dantek is a Venezuelan native who has developed amazing skills in photography and content creation. His creativity and talents have helped him throw some amazing galleries with his photography in the past. He has done several fundraising events to help different causes within the city and internationally. His particular style of photography has a way of engaging with the audience where more than one time you start navigating back in time to when the photo was taken.”

Marknow

“Unapologetically himself, Mark is a super fun content creator who is the same fun person in real life. His energy is transmitted through his post and he is the type of person that is always looking for more ways to be creative, whether it’s with his friends or just him. He creates killer photos. One of my favorite video series that he creates the ‘Donut Adventure.’ not only because I love donuts, but because he shares awesome knowledge about how each place makes them.”
