Interesting Events – Miracles, Giving Tuesday, DaBaby & More
- /
‘Tis the season of events in Charlotte. Here are a few that have us excited and intrigued.
There’s Still Time to Taste the “Miracle on Monroe” Tonight
If you’ve been nibbling on The Biscuit, you’ll note that we have a sizeable crush on Chef Ron Ahlert. Chef Ron and his team of culinary experts teach students in need of a second chance to make delicious (and affordable) food at the Community Culinary School of Charlotte, serving breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday.
If you’ve never eaten at the school, tonight is your night. Tickets are still available to the school’s signature culinary event, “Miracle on Monroe.” For just $35, you can indulge in chef-inspired food from 5:30 to 8pm tonight, Dec. 3. Click here to buy your ticket.
Move Over Cyber Monday. It’s #GivingTuesdayCLT
Today, hundreds of nonprofits across the Queen City are engaged in innovative fundraising activities to help do more good in 2020. Quarterbacked by SHARE Charlotte, $7.2 million in donations were collected on #GivingTuesdayCLT in 2018. What will the total be this year? To give you an idea of what the day is all about, SHARE teamed up with Spiracle Media, to create videos, like the one above about Shining Hope Farms.
And, we’re participating, too.
Charlotte Is Creative, the publishers of The Biscuit, are raising money for our HUG (Helpful Unfettered Gift) micro-grant program, which helps local creatives push their ideas and dreams forward. In just under 3 years, we’ve given out more than 160 HUGs … and we’re just getting started. Through the end of the week, every time you order margarita pizza at Charlotte-area Brixx Pizza locations, $2 will be donated for HUGs.
Here are a few more events on tap for the back half of the week.
We needed a concert with some bop in it. The Charlotte rapping sensation is back home in the QC.
