Today is the Day… Go Vote!
- /
You made it. Today’s the day. If you’ve voted early, kick back and watch the results. If not, stop reading and start voting.
Much has been made of the 1/4 cent sales tax increase that’s designated to fund arts, parks and education. It’s generated a lot of conversation because it’s an issue worth thinking about, reading about and triangulating. And, there are unanswered questions about how it will work. We’ve rendered our own position — we’re FOR! it.
And, we’ve allowed Davita Galloway to share hers, including a Q & A she conducted on Facebook last night. But, ANY sales tax increase, especially one that’s pushing our sales tax limits, should be taken seriously. Luckily, if you’re late to the game, a Google search will present you with lots to consider. There’s time to read and decide for yourself before you vote.
It’s not the only reason to vote today. We’re voting for our mayor, city council members and school board representatives, too.
Our ultimate request is that however you vote, you DO vote … even if you disagree with us. There are no real absolutes at the ballot box. No candidate or measure is 100% good or 100% bad. The only absolute is that if you don’t vote, there’s not much you can really say about what happens next.
