If there was ever a time for fresh, innovative thinking about education … that time is now with well over 100,000 students working from home, many of them at or below the poverty line. Thankfully, Greg Schembeck and his team at Schermco are on the job. On his second tour in Charlotte, Greg is challenging the notions of what school is and the incomparable importance of teachers. He’s hopeful that COVID-19 has made their value readily apparent to all and that the system is ready to try something new.
On this batch of The Biscuit Blitz, Greg and Tim Miner chat about all of that, in addition to their decision to divert grant funds they received directly into the pockets of families in West Charlotte (Ashley Park to be exact) so they have a little more to pay their bills right now.
