As the Queen City continues to grow, so does the need to work together and advocate for equitable development policies. We want Charlotte to be a healthy, happy and creative city for all communities.
This Saturday, January 11 from 9am to 4pm, join the team at Building Community CLT for Building A Charlotte For All: The Summit. This summit is your chance to be in the room with fellow Charlotteans who are fighting for equitable development in Charlotte. You will work together to generate discussion and ideas for a more equitable future.
The summit will feature workshops from Sustain Charlotte, Equitable Communities CLT, the League of Creative Interventionists, the West Boulevard Coalition and the 3 Sisters Market. There will also be a presentation from Charlotte’s Assistant City Manager and Chief City Planner Taiwo Jaiyeoba and a keynote from award-winning placemaker and author Jay Pitter. Cine Casual Film Series – Matar a Jesús Screening
Jan.11 at 6pm
Camp North End
HUG Mirco-grant recipient Giovanna Torres is getting ready to launch the Cine Casual Film Series this Saturday, January 11 at Camp North End. Giovanna used her HUG to create promotional materials to spread the word about the film series. Between now and April, six award-winning Latin American films will be screened in the series. Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Charlotte-based artists and community leaders. The discussions will connect the film’s themes to local issues and perspectives.
The first film in the series, Matar a Jesús, will play this Saturday at 6pm. Read our article on the project, then purchase your all-access ticket.
