SHARE Charlotte Teams Up with 10 Charlotte Artists

by Tim Miner on November 12, 2020

Ricky Singh is at it again.

Over the past few months, we’ve shared Ricky’s work to use art to create community pride along the Beatties Ford Road corridor, paint a #CountOnMeCLT mural to promote COVID-19 safety and launch the “Rise Up” video series of student poems and spoken word at Charlotte Lab.

Now, he’s working with SHARE Charlotte to prepare us all for #GivingTuesdayCLT on December 1, a day designed to counterbalance “Black Friday” and encourage the community to invest in local nonprofit organizations. To do this, Ricky and SHARE cultivated a group of 10 Charlotte artists to create 10 original works to feature on social media. Each work will be inspired by a different Charlotte nonprofit.

To date, the series has featured work from Carla Aaron-Lopez (HEAL Charlotte), Makayla Binter (CrownKeepers), DeNeer Davis (Beds for Kids) and Frankie Zombie (Isabella Santos Foundation.) We know the remaining, but it’s a closely guarded secret. So, you’ll have to check out the SHARE Charlotte Instagram feed throughout the month to see the rest.
