All the Whos Down in Whoville Say This Biscuit Batch Will Put You to Sleep. (Wait … that doesn’t sound right.)
Nick de la Canal Has a Bedtime Story for You‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town … we’re having a little trouble resting our crowns. If you’re anything like us at The Biscuit, you have a really hard time falling asleep during the holidays. That’s why we called in an expert — Nick de la Canal of WFAE — to read us “Goodnight Queen,” a bedtime story all about life in Charlotte and help us all drift off to sleep, dreaming of the city of love. (Or, it may just incite us to rally and hit the Epicenter for a night to remember.) Nighty night, everyone. Watch it now! Enjoy More Holiday VideosIn case you missed them, here are two other videos we made about the holidays in Charlotte. These parody videos were produced by Charlotte Is Creative and Charlotte Star Room. Special thanks to Nick de la Canal as our narrator.

An #OGCLT Guide to the Queen City (… for visiting guests who are driving you crazy.)The family is coming into town this week for the holidays and you want to show off your city, but where should you take them? We at The Biscuit believe that you can’t go wrong with visiting some #OGclt spots, the places in Charlotte that have stood the test of time and embody the awesomeness the Queen City has to offer. To help you out, we asked The Biscuit staff what #OGclt hotspots they’d recommend for CLT newbies and guests to get a sense of our favorite city in the world. In the process, we came up with the Three C’s of #OGclt: Chew, Chill, & Collect.

Making the Move from ALT to CLTWe’re always curious about how creatives found their way to Charlotte and what their experience has been like when they got here. We hope you’ll share yours with us someday. Today, the floor belongs to Ciara Bagwell, a special event coordinator and consultant who just established a new business here. Ciara made the move from Atlanta to Charlotte in July and asked to weigh in on the positive impact the creative community has had on her transition to the Queen City. Read her story here.
Nine times out of 10, wrong numbers and accidental texts are boring or annoying. But, when that one time out of 10 comes along … MAGIC!
Just in time for Christmas, we got an early gift on The Biscuit Google Voice number. We got this awesome photo fo Jon Strayhorn posing with (soon to be professional baby model) Jackson Boone Muñoz. We reached back out to ask if we could use it here and were THRILLED to get permission to do so. This unexpected text has been the highlight of the season. It just makes us happy … and we hope it does you. (P.S. If you have a holiday photo you’d like to put in our stocking, please do. Text it to is at (704) 835-0193.) Jon Strayhorn wishing peace on earth with Jackson Boone Muñoz

Charlotte has added some impressive high-rises over the past 30 years but we would argue that Crown Town’s most iconic skyscraper is only one-story tall… and isn’t even in Uptown. We are talking about Paper Skyscraper, the Dilworth gift shop that’s been providing the Queen City with its unique wares for decades. This #OGclt shop is celebrating its 30th birthday this month and we think the best gift you can give them is shopping local and giving a gift to someone else. If you’re looking for a last-minute gift for that uncle you didn’t realize was coming to Christmas dinner or you just need some extra stocking stuffers, head to Paper Skyscraper to find that perfect present. We’ll give you bonus points if you buy something made by a Charlotte artisan. We heard that Charlotteans make the absolute best Christmas gifts (aside from Santa’s elves in the North Pole)! Directions: 330 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203 This Queen City exploration is powered by OrthoCarolina.
